FIfF-Ko 2/2008: Hacking Law and Politics for Digital Freedom in France
Von Jeremie Zimmermann
This is the story of how a bunch of determined hackers in France decided to try to promote their ideas on a higher level, to hack into
the political spheres where law is written. – With 2000 members April is the main NGO in France for promoting and defending Libre
Software (Free-as-Freedom Software). Our members include mostly individuals, as well as other NGOs, big and small companies
(amongst them SUN Microsystems, Thales, Red Hat, Google France, Canonical, Mandriva, etc.). Our executive board is held by
volunteers, and we are able to pay 3 full-time employees.
